Cuppycakes

I am a terrible cook. I would rather eat out every night of the week than have to cook every night. We were eating out nearly every night before Arthur decided we couldn't do it anymore. I was pretty mad, but I agreed to compromise. He figured out a good plan. We could go out once a week to eat, and every other night he would cook and do the dishes. I was ok with that! So every night he comes over, and cooks! It sounds funny, but it works for us. He loves to cook and I love to eat... He doesn't mind doing dishes, and I hate to do dishes. :)

This weekend was fun. My cousin Brooke and her husband Jim came over on Friday night. Arthur and I bought American Idol for the Wii so we all sang and had a blast. Halfway through the night, Brooke said she wanted a treat. I wanted one too, so we thought about what we could do. Normally, I suggest we go out and get dessert somewhere... but then Arthur would have counted that as our one night out! No way!

So Brooke and I dug in my cupboards and I found a box of cake mix and some frosting. We made chocolate cupcakes! We were pretty proud of ourselves. Can you tell?

In the end, we had a blast making cupcakes. Arthur and Jim both had one and Brooke and I each had 2. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I can cook, even if it is just a cake mix. :P

Shiny Desires

Last year for my birthday, my Fiance Arthur and I celebrated it by having a local vacation. Local vacations are weird because you leave your house and go to a hotel and stay just a few minutes from where you actually live.

Arthur and I had been dating at that point for nearly 3 years. We had talked a few times about getting married, but there weren't any concrete plans yet. I kept pestering Arthur about what he was going to get me for my birthday.

One random weekend before my birthday Localvacation, I asked for some kind of hint. I was so excited when he told me that my gift was "shiny" and "something I've always wanted". I knew it had to be a ring.

The last night of our Localvacation, we were hanging out in the Grand America hotel room he had gotten for us. I opened my presents and I kept looking for a little ring box holding the shiny gift I'd always wanted.

I opened the last pacakage and it was a Sony Digital HDD Video camera. The metal was so shiny. It was something I had spotted at Best Buy a few months back, and I had told him that I really wanted a video camera for a long time.

So, I ended up getting exactly what the hint told me it was. A shiny video camera I'd always wanted. I was so mad!

Don't worry, I eventually got my ring. :)
